Some things to do in Albany

Albany New York is the capital city of New York state. It is on the bank of the Hudson River and is between New York City, Boston and Montreal.  Albany offers fine dining, cultural events, arts, education and parks.

 

Here are some events to do in Albany this Christmas season:

 

  1. Letters to Santa. Clifton Park Town Hall will forward the letters to Santa. You can drop the letters off at the town hall.
  2. The 10th Annual Schenectady Festival of Trees. The Schenectady Historical Society will show decorated trees, and you and your family can decorate a tree for a small fee.
  3. You can skate at the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink for free.  
  4. You can donate scarves, hats, gloves for children and adolescents that will be donated to the Women’s Shelter at Il Faro restaurant and you will receive a collectable ornament.
  5. You can go to A Charlie Brown Christmas at HMT. The Home Made Theater will adapt the Christmas Special to help the Peanuts gang find the true meaning of Christmas. The show is about $20 per person.
  6. You and your children can have breakfast at Santa at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland. They are serving: muffins, donuts, coffee and juice. You also can take pictures with Santa! This will be happening on Saturday December 17, 2016 from 10-2pm. This is a free event.
  7. On Saturday December 17, 2016 at 6pm. There is a living nativity at Christ Community Reformed Church, 1010 Route 146, Clifton Park, NY.
  8. Of course you can try some of the restaurants, museums, and parks around town.
